This policy explains what information the Exam Countdown Wallpaper Android app (package com.rashidthedeveloper.examcountdown) collects, why, and the choices you have. The app is made by Rashid, an independent developer based in Kerala, India ("I", "me").

The short version

  • There are no accounts and I do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
  • Your settings and saved items are stored only on your device.
  • The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID.
  • I do not sell your data.

Information stored on your device

Settings and anything you save inside the app are stored locally on your phone. This information is never sent to me. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes it.

Permissions

  • Set wallpaper: needed to apply your countdown wallpaper.
  • Internet: needed to load ads. The countdown itself works offline.
  • Run at startup: needed to keep daily updates scheduled after your phone restarts.
  • Prevent phone from sleeping: needed to let a background wallpaper update finish.
  • Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob to show and measure ads.

Advertising

The app is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalised or non-personalised.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change this choice later from the app's settings.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's settings under Google, then Ads. Learn more in how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Sharing

I do not sell or rent personal information. Data is processed by the service providers named above (Google AdMob) only to provide their services, under their own privacy policies.

Data retention and deletion

Data stored on your device stays until you remove it.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and is intended for a general audience. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

All data the app sends and receives travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's update notes.
